A lot of this information is not at the fore front of our culture. In fact, I have observed that most people keep their discomfort to themselves in the United States especially when it comes to elimination.

As children we are expected to "wait," and "hold on." This can and does translate into constipation. Education on how to eat, breath and relax our muscles can help us to achieve being more at home in our bodies.

Additionally staying up late can be a cause of irregular bowel movement. The pituitary glad rules over our sleep and regulates hormones such as cortisol, melatonin and seratonin if we don't abide by the body's clock and go to bed by 10-10:30 we can throw off our hormones and cause ourselves to become constipated. Find out for yourself by testing your regularity with your sleep patterns.
